duo project
rodriguez - gutierrez duo
The Rodriguez – Gutierrez duo represents the new generation of authentic tango, with strong roots in the tradition of Argentine music. Singing joins the traditional formation of guitar and Bandoneon, thus forming a “cuarteto de a dos” (quartet of two) combining the robustness of traditional tango with the subtlety of vocal-instrumental chamber music.
With original arrangements, the Rodriguez – Gutierrez duo performs a wide classic repertoire, from Carlos Gardel to Lucio Demare, Alfredo De Angelis, Juan D’Arienzo, Osvaldo Pugliese and Astor Piazzola.
A developed vocal-instrumental technique coupled with the inexhaustible curiosity in common to explore different musical genres managed to create this project in the city of Salta, Argentina in 2019.
They expect to cultivate and disseminate the great musical and literary heritage of their land beyond its borders.
Aíto Rodriguez is an outstanding Argentine singer and guitarist, soloist, and chamber musician. Formed in the conservatory “Manuel de Falla”, he knew how to excel with equal refinement both in voice and guitar in various genres ranging from classical music to Argentine folklore. His latest album “Convergencia” (Convergence), unites singing and guitar in the music of Argentine composers such as Eduardo Falú, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Cuchi Leguizamón, and Alberto Ginastera.
Ivan Gutierrez Cachullani is a multifaceted Argentine musician capable of combining the art of the Bandoneon, singing, and composition in a single expression, also representing tango and Argentine music in a unique way.
Graduated in Composition at the Universidad Católica de Salta and Bandoneon in the same city, Ivan teaches Bandoneon at the “José Lo Giudice” music school.
